OIL CONSPIRACIES Senator Robinson Attacks The Democrats WHOLESALE GRAFT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright.) (A & N.Z.) WASHINGTON, Mar. 29. Senator Robinson, before the Senate, stated:— “The conspiracy to get control of the naval oil reserves was formed in Washington during the Wilson Administration. It was participated in by high officials of that Administration, and aided and abetted by still other Democrats of high standing. “The record shows that wholesale influencing of Federal officials, including Cabinet members and their important assistants by private oil interests, was in full bloom under the Wilson Administration, and the exhaustion of the nation’s supply of oil was already well under way, due to Democratic acts ami the legislation of the Administration.”
He centred his attack upon the former Secretary of the Navy, Air Daniels, and the ex-Secretary cf the Interior, Mr Lane, whom he named as the originator of the proposal to lease the naval reserves for private exploitation.
He also said: “Air McAdoo crammed a cool 250,000 dollars into his pocket, and has never yet made restitution.He asked if it were possible that Air McAdoo was using this money to finance the campaign of Senator Walsh, of Alon tan a?
