WESTFIELD PRICES. I Fer Fresa Association. J AUCKLAND, March 30. At Westfield yesterday there was a heavy yarding of beef. Ox beef was firm at late rates, but cow and heifer beef was inclined to ease. Extra choice ox made 35s per 1001 b.; choice and prime, 32s to 345; just killable, 28s to 31s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 27s to 295; just killable, 24s to 265. There was an average yarding of sheep, with, little or no change in prices. Extra heavy prime wethers made £1 15s 3d; heavy prime, £1 10s to £1 12s fid; medium, £1 7s 6d to £1 9s; light and unfinished, £1 5s to £1 6s 6d; extra heavy prime lines, £1 7s; heavy, £1 3s 6d to £1 ss; lighter, £1 Is to £l. 3s; others, 17s to 19s fid.
There was a good yarding of lambs, the bulk of which were unfinished. Fats sold on a par with last week's rates. Unfinished and store lambs were inclined to ease. Heavy prime lambs made £1 7s to £1 9s 6d; medium, £1 4s to £1 5s fid; light, £1 to £1 3s; plain, 16s 6d to 18s fid. Runner calves made £3 7s to £3 ss; heavy vcalcrs, £3 10s to £4 3s; mediums, £3 to £3 ss; light, £2 to £2 15s; rough, £1 ss.
A good yarding of pigs sold__ under keen competition at late rastes. Choppers made to £3 12s; heavy baconers, £4 12s; medium, £3 10s to £4; light, £3 to £3 8s; heavy porkers, £2 14s to £3; medium, £2 5s to £2 12s; light, £1 18s to £2 2s. A line of 65 lambs from the Hautu prison farm averaged £2 2s 9d, this being a record price for any consignment of such a number, and it was considered without doubt the best line ever offered at Westfield.
