CASTLECLIFF CLUB. OPENING DAY ON SATURDAY The Castlecliff Golf Club will open its 1928 season a#t 2 p.m. to-morrow. If the weather is fine it is anticipated that there will be a record number of players present. The club is fortunate in having elected about thirty new members which augurs well for the coming season. Visitors and friends arc cordially invited to be present and participate in the mixed foursomes. Considering t.hc dry weather the fairways and greens arc in excellent condition, anrl players can depend on having an ejoyable afternoon’s sport. Players arc requested to be punctual so that they can be paired at the club house. Afternoon tea will be served in the club house after the conclusion of the competition.
INTER-VARSITY GAME CAMBRIDGE BEAT OXFORD (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, March At Sandwick in the Jubilee interVarsity golf match, Cambridge beat Oxford by eight matches to six.

Those wishing to enter for any of the Easter tournaments should ger their entries in immediately, otherwise they may he too late. Nelson closes on Saturday, New Plymouth on Tuesday, and Manawatu on Wednesday.
