MARTON SALE The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co. Ltd., report as follows:—On Monday we had a gocid yarding of 1700 sheep and* 200 head or cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers and although bidding was inclined to drag we solid all the sheep and all the cattle except one pen. We quote: 2-tooth wethers 24s 7d; woolly b.f. lambs 19s; shorn b.f. lambs 16s 7d to 18s 2id; w.f. wether lambs 15s and 15s 7d; smaller w.f.w. lambs Ils Id to 14s 6d; cull lambs 9s, s.m. ewes 19s 6d to 20s 9id, failing mouth ewes to 16s; 2i-year P.A. steers £7 7s; fat cows £5 to £6 ss; 18-month steers £4 to £4 6s 6d; empty cows £2 10s to £3; weaner heifers 25s to 30s. The enquiry for ewes, however, was not so good. We quote: Best w.f. shorn wether lambs 17s to 17s 7d; medium w'.f. shorn wether lambs 12s 3d to 14s 6d; cull ditto 6s to 7s 9d; ewe lambs 17s Gd to ISs; small m.s. lambs 13s Id; fat lambs 20s; S.D. rams, 4 guineas to 64 geineas; mixed age»l ewes to 225; 2-tooth wethers 22s 3d; weaner pigs 6s 6d to 10s; slips 13s 6d to 14s; weaner heifers £3 to £4 6s; fat cows £4 5s to £5 12s 6cl. TAIHAPE. The Associated Auctioneers held their fortnightly stock sale at Taihape yesterday, w’hen a large entry of sheep (chiefly ewes and lambs) and a small yarding of cattle was offered to a large attendance of buyers. Bidding was brisk and most of the lines submitted were sold at satisfactory prices. One pen of ewe lambs brought 23s 7d, while a pen of 2-tooth ewes realised 30s.
