DIRECTOR’S REPORT ANNUAL SWIMMING SPORTS The monthly report of the director of the Wanganui Technical College, Air 1. E. Newton, states that the pupils were appealed to for subscriptions on behalf of the Wanganui museum fund and Dr. Barnado’s Homes. In all £3 15s 7<l was collected for the former and £ll 13s for the latter.
The annual swimming sports took place during the month, the boys’ at the municipal baths on February 29, and the girls’ at the school baths on Alarch 6. The points for the various houses were; Alexander 374 J; Rees 200; Pirani 3334; Braik 279. The champions were: Boys— Senior, Tilley; runner up Edward; junior, Gordon; runners-up, Thrush and Afcte Kinki. Girls—Senior, Audrey Svenson; runnerup, Edith McDonald; junior, Dorothy Anderson; runners-up Kathleen Spurdle and Edna Ginn. The annual cricket match with Palmerston North Boys’ High School -vxas played at Palmerston, the scores being: Palmerston North .189 and 244; School 275 and four wickets for 42 runs, the match being drawn. This is the best performance ever put up by School at Palmerston.
