INVERCARGILL COUNCIL APPLICANTS REFUSE CLERKSHIP I Per Press AssoclatXon. J INVERCARGILL, March -8. An extraordinary position has arisen regaiding the town clerkship. Three applicants were offered the position, but all declined, and the Council decided to re-advertise.
A section of the Council is at loggerheads with the* engineer and the retiring town (dork, and it is surmised that the fault-finding attitude is responsible for the candidates refusing a lucrative position.
