TO-NIGHT’S SPORTS HANDICAPS DECLARED. The final sports meeting of the season will be held on Cook’s Gardens tonight when the Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will hold their annual cup meeting. This meeting is creating more interest in local athletics than any previous gathering, as several championship) events are at stake.

One of the attractions of the •evening will be the one mile run for the Zinox Cup. In this event Clarric Gibbons, one of the finest distance runners in the Dominion, is on the scratch mark and is giving away starts up tof 175yds.

The ladies’ events, which are always popular with the spectators, have drawn good fields and some exciting finishes should be witnessed. The relay ince between a team of lour ladies and two men, over a distance of a quarter mile, should be a great race with the men conceding the ladies fifty yards start.

The cycling events are always a big attraction with the public and as the fields are well filled and the talent of the best, including the local champions, L. Wakeley, Cave, D. Adamson and K. Anderson, some very fine racing should result. In all there are thirty-odd events to be decided. Handicaps. The following handicaps have been declared by Mr Geo. A. Benson (running), and Mr I.
