THE BANDBOX REVUE

A PLEASING COMPANY Vaudeville and revue was the fare offered a large audience at the Opera House last night, when under the direction of Sir Benjamin and Mr John Fuller, Mr F. Gayle Wycr and his Bandbox Company opened a two-night season, on their return visit to the city. The first half of the programme was devoted to variety items, in several of which Mr Charles Norman was the chief fun-maker, with his attenuated body, flexible joints and eccentric dancing. Added to these was a fund of smart sayings and droll patter. Miss Heather Jones and the syncopated steppers contributed a number of pleasing song and dance turns, and various other members of the company combined in humorous sketches, wrherein the laughter provoking clement was supreme.

The second half of the bill was taken up with a farce entitled “A Matrimonial Muddle,” the chief pares in which were allotted to Charles Norman, F. Gayle Wyer, Ena Gordon, Vera Benson, Sam Ward, Heather Jones and Billy Bovis. This one-act playette contained many excruciatingly funny situations ,while all the musical numbers were tuneful and were well received.

To-night the company will play “Mixed Doubles,” and there will be an entire change in the programme to be offered.
