ELECTRIC LIGHT SPORTS

The officials of the Wanganui Ama-' tour Athletic and cycling club, have; everything in order for their electric [ light sports which is to be held on • Cook’s Gardens to-morrow evening. j Very big entries have been received ; for the different events and some very] fine racing should be witnessed. The trophies to be competed for in- ■ elude the Gifford Marshall Cup, for the ' hundred yards championship, Empson I Cup. quarter-milc champonship, E. P. j Pridham Cup, 100 and 220 yards handi-1 caps, Zinox Cup, half and one mile han- 1 dicaps and Bruen Memorial Cup, J2O yards open handicap. This is also the ' final sports at which points will count; for the Bradley Shield, and as this is | tho first season this shield has been I competed for the club members are all i keen to be the first holders of this very ' fine trophy. The cyclists arc well catered for and ' as they are right at the top of their | form at present, some very fine riding should be seen.

The two ladies’ events should produce some very fine running as these young athletes are showing good form at present.

The quarter-mile relay between four ladies and two men should be a great race. The men will concedde the ladies a 50 yard start. This is the first time this style of relay racing has been run in Wanganui.
