TOY DOG CLUB

A SUCCESSFUL PARADE MANY ENTRIES IN ALL CLASSES. For several weeks the committee and members of the Wanganui Toy Dog Club were busily engaged in arranging for the holding of a parade and the necessary permission having been obtained from the New Zealand Kennel Club, the event was held on Saturday last.

An entry of 65 dogs was received, and all locally owned, and it says much for the enthusiasm of the local dog-owners and dog-lovers, that there were less than a dozen absentees owing to the deplorable weather experienced. Mr R. Stevenson generously placed the grounds of the residence at the corner of Bell and Ingestre Streets at the club’s disposal for the parade, but owing to the weather being unfavourable it was decided to proceed w’ith the event in the outbuildings of Mr E. Dunstall’s residence. Mr J. Hutchinson acted as judge, and fulfilled his task in a manner that earned the unqualified approval of all present. At the conclusion of the judging Mrs 1 P. H. Smith presented the ribbons to | the winning owners, and thus termiu- i ated a successful event.
