LOCAL AGENTS’ ADVICE.Messrs Millward and Co. advise: The Gale and Breeze are at present on their way south. The Cowden Law is due at Wanganui about the end of April from Galveston, Texas, via Auckland, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. Messrs Holm and Co. advise: — Hhe Holmdale sailed yesterday for Wellington and southern ports. The John is due here again on April 3. Messrs Johnston and Co. report:— The Hauturu leaves Onehunga to-morrow; due here M.Vch 31. GENERAL NEWS. THE WESTMORELAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that an alteration has been made in the loading itinerary of the Federal Line steamer Westmoreland ,and she will not call at Auckland, as was formerly intended. The vessel is now discharging and loading at New Plycmuth .and her other loading ports are Nelson. Wanganui, and Wellington. She is scheduled to clear Wellington for Lon Jon and Hull on April 23. R.M.S. AORANGI IN PORT. An arrival at Auckland on Sunday morning was the Royal Mail liner Aorangi from Vancouver, Honolulu and Fiji. She berthed at Prince’s Wharf at mid-day to land passengers .mail and cargo for New Zealand. Generally fair weather prevailed on the voyage. After leaving Honolulu a leak developed in the vessel’s rudder trunk and water found its way into the engine room. Yesterday afternoon the underpart ot the stern , was inspected by the Harbour Board's diver. On the vessel’s arrival at Sydney she will be docked for repairs.

REMUERA AT AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera reached Auckland on Sunday evening after an uneventful voyage from London. On March 16 and March 20 stormy conditions prevailed, otherwise the weather was exceptionally fine. The vessel sailed from Southampton on February 17 and passed the Azores on February 21. Colon was reached on March 3 and after the bunker-fuel had been replenished at Balboa in the evening she cleared Panama at two o’clock the folowing morning. On March 15 the vessel stopped for three hours off Pitcairn Island to take on board mail and to allow passengers to purchase fruit and other island produce. THE ECHUNGA The Echunga sailed at mid-day on Saturday for Newcastle to load another coal cargo for Auckland. THE TOFUA. The Union Company’s Island steamer Tofua, was despatched on Saturday for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. She is due back at Auckland on April 16. TAINUI AT SOUTHAMPTON. With passengers, mails and cargo from New Zealand .the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tainui is reported to have reached Southampton on Saturday., She was despatched from W'ellington on February 15. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. Following the Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s steamer Port Albany .which is due at Auckland from New York to-day the company’s steamer Port Curtis is to leave New York on April 20 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.
