LABORATORY EXPLOSION THE PAHIATUA INCIDENT L Per Frew Association. J PAHIATUA, March 27. The death occurred this afternool after much suffering of a 35-year-old lad, Leslie Wilfred Alurphy. only son of Airs W. E. Alurphy, widow, of Tyndall Street.

The victim was injured in an explosion in the science room of the Pnhiatua District High School on February 6 during a science lesson on that day, and he as admitted to hospital with severe gashes in the abdomen inflicted by falling pieces of glass. There were several operations during the period, the last one by a Wellingi ton surgeon instructed by the Education Board.
