AN UNUSUAL CLAIM

COMPENSATION SOUGHT EXPERT MEDICAL EVIDENCE NEEDED [ Per Press Association. I WELLINGTON, March 26 A compensation claim by R. B. Alborough against the Nelson City Council for loss of wages during incapacity, due to exopthalmic goitre following a fall while in the Council’s employ, partly heard in Nelson, was continued by the Arbitration Court to-day.

Plaintiff had received compensation for a period after the accident and returned to work, apparently fully recovered, but goitre later appeared. Lengthy medical evidence was heard for and against the contention that the goitre was caused by the accident. Mr Justice Frazer said that this was a case which the Court felt unqualified to decide. He adjourned the matter to enable a medical expert to be selected as medical referee.
