A SUICIDE THREAT

The discussion developed into a fast and furious battle of accusations and refuta ions, and terminated after the deputies charged with malpractices had mutually described their ex-colleagues as adventurers.

Ihsan Bey was worked up to such a pitch of exasperation by the gibes cast at him that, dramatically whipping his hand to his hip pocket, he shouted: “Do you want to see justice lone by my committing suicide here before you?” According to one paper it was subsequently established that his pocket contained no dangerous weapon.

A unanimous vote of the Assembly deprived the ex-Minister of parliamentary immunity, and he is to be brought up lor trial. During his cross-examina-tion by the commission f inquiry his private and public life was subjected to minute investigation. The president of the commission even asked him his name and those of his father and mother.
