WESTFIELD SALE [ Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, March 22. At Westfield yesterday there was uh average yarding of beef and a good yarding of cows and heifers. Competition. was very keen for all classes, with values very firm- Extra choice ox sold to 35s per 1001 b, choice and prime 32s to 345; just killable 28s to aO.s; prime young cow and heifer beef 27s to 295; just killable 24s to 265. Sheep. —An average yarding, values being very firm for both wethers and ewes, and in odd cases the latter were better—extra heavy prune wethers made £1 10s to £1 12s, Heavy prime £1 8s to £1 9s fid; medium £1 6s to £1 7s 9d; light and unfinished £1 3s 6d to £1 ss; heavy prime ewes £1 7s; extra heavy £1 2s fid to £1 4s fid; lighter 19s fid to £1 Is 9d; other ewes 17s to 19s. Lambs. —An average yarning, there being little or no change in values. Heavy prime lambs made £1 7s to £1 9s fid; medium £1 4s to £1 5s fid; ligiit £1 Is to £1 3s; plain 16s 6d to 18s fid. I Calves.- —A fair yarding sold readily I at last week’s -prices as follows: KunI ners £3 8s to £5 6s; heavy vealcrs £3 i 10s to £4 ss; medium £3 to £3 8s; light, £2 to £2 15s; rough, £1 ss; freau dropped 3s to £1 6s. Digs came forward in fair numbers, prices being very firm. Choppers ma J o £2 12s to £3 10s; heavy baconers £-1 4s to £4 10s; medium baconers £3 10s to £4; light baconers £3 to £3 9s; heavy porkers £2 14s to £2 19s; medium porkers £2 5s to £2 12s; light porkers £1 18s to £2 3s. MARTON SALE Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the sale held at Marton on Thursday: We yarded 1100 odd sheep and quitted the whole of the entry. Thri yarding consisted chiefly of lambs. We also hud a small yard mg of caUlc and pigs. We quote: W-F.W. lambs 15s to 15s 7d; medium mixed lambs 16s Id; medium beef lambs 16s 2d to 16s 9d; small w.I. lambs 12s 3d to Ids 8d; small bf. lambs 14s 3d; good bf. lambs 19s fid; fat ewes 18s 3d; aged ewes 18s 2d to 20s 3d; 2j-year Holstein cteers/ £6 Is; wearier pigs 10s to 14s 3d.
