“QUEEN HIGH”

The J. C. Williamson musical comedy, “Queen High” presented at the Opera House last night was just as well received as “Tip Toes,” the first offering of the company, whose stay in Wanganui has been all too short. In “Queen High,” which is an adaption of the farce comedy, “A Pair of Sixes,” Miss Byrl Walkley had n, much better singing part than la “Tip Toes,” her rich soprano voice being heard at its best. Mr Leyland Hodgson also had a better <>:aracter to portray than he had in the opening piece. Messrs Barrett-Lenaard and Cecil Kollaway revelled in the comedy material provided by the authors, while Miss Billie Lockwood as “Coddles” presented a remarkably clever and interesting study. There was plenty of noise, hustle and. bustle, .-andwiched with a variety of songs and: dances, that made it a comedy of merit.
