HUNTERVILLE

GENERAL NEWS. [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service ] A lorry owned by Messrs John Reid and Co., of Wanganui, collided with a! ear driven by Miss Wilson, of Silver- ' hope, at Goebel’s corner, near Hunterville, on Monday night. No one was hurt. Both vehicles were, slightly damaged but were able to continue theii journeys. The lorry was travelling from Ractihi to Wanganui and the car was coming to Hunterville. This corner has been the scene of many accidents, and although it has lately been widened it still seems to be a place for motors to meet on the same side of the road, even though there is room for three cars abreast at this spot. It is not considered a bad corner by motorists. PERSONAL. Mr A. W. Mulligan, private secretary to the Minister for Lands, who has' been on leave, spent a few days in Ruahine and Hunterville. Mr D. Stent, of Ohingaiti, has been appointed chairman of directors of the Taihape Dairy Company. GENERAL NEWS Cricket w?ll be resumed at Hunterville on Saturday when Hunterville and Marton clubs will meet on Hunterville Domain. The holidays passed off very quietly and only one case was herd in the local Court, a man being arrested for obscene language. He was fined £1 by Messrs A. G. Simpson and W. G. Grey, J J*, ’s. PERSONAL Miss Daldy, sister of Mr E. V. Daldy, is on a visit to Hunterville. Messrs V. G. Britton, A. R. Living ston, G. Gardiner, A. E. Stevens, and H. Stansfield, spent an enjoyable time at the National Park last week.
