NATIVE LANDS
NEW BILL FOR THE HOUSE SEVERAL IMPORTANT PROVISIONS. [ Special “ Chronicle " Service J WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. Numerous matters relating to native lands are dealt within the Native “Washing-up” Bill introduced into .he House of Representatives to-night. A Afaori Land Board will be entitled to charge 5 per cent, commission on all rents and other moneys deposited with or collected and distributed by it. Where several areas of native land are vested in a Maori Land* Board, power is given that they may be formed and dealt with conjointly. Alaori Land Boards are authorised to acquire land for natives. No person lending money to a Maori ‘Land Bard or to a body corporate shad be concerned as to the necessity for o£ tho application of the loan, but provision is contained for the protection of mortgages.
