WAGE CLAIMS ON FACTS NEW U.S. LABOUR POLICY NEW YORK, Nov. 10. At its annual convention at Los Angeles, California, the Executive Council of Organised Labour in America recommended the adoption of a new wage policy proposing to subordinate the practice of making arbitrary demands for increased wages with the alternative of a strike, and to substitute for it that of presenting facts and figures to support Labour’s contentions. Other matters considered by the convention included Labour’s goal of a five-day working week and a recommendation that Labour should insist upon an almost complete restriction of immigration.
