TURKEY’S DEMAND
STRAINED RELATIONS WITH PERSIA. CONSTANTINOPLE, Nov. 4. Failure by Persia to act in concert with Turkey in assuring peace on the Turco-Persian frontier has given rise to a strained situation between the two countries. I Official reports from the frontier state that during the last few days repeated incursions into Turkish territory have been made by brigands coming from the Persian side, and in the last attack, after a serious armed encounter with Turkish troops, the brigands captured a number of Turkish officers and soldiers and retired to Persian territory. Repeated protests have been made by the Turks against the giving of refuge by Persia to these bauds, which sometimes number as many as 300 to 400 men, but nothing has been done to aid in the suppression of the brigands. It is now reported that Turkey has sent a violent Note to the Persian Government, demanding their immediate co-operation.
