CLAIM REFUSED
FORTY-FOUR HOUR WEEK AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY WORKERS. (A.' & N.Z.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 22. On a majority judgment the Commonwealth Arbitration Court refused the application by the Federated Agricultural Implement and Machinery and Iron Workers’ Association of Australia for a 44-hour week in the agricultural implement making industry, as a reduction of the working week would injure the industry and weaken it in the face of keen overseas competition.
