DOMINION SALES AT WANGANUI LIGHT ENTRY, BUT GOOD PRICES. The entry s t Freeman R. Jackson ana Co.’s weekly sale yesterday was only a moderate one, and pigs did not come forward to advertised numbers. The entry of sheep was a verv light one, comprising a few pens of fat sheep which sold well. A medium entry of cattle met with fair competition. The show being a counter-attraction, only a few buyers were present. Nevertheless, although the bidding was inclined to drag somewhat, the sale was quite a good one, late rates being fully maintained. The following prices were realised: SHEEP. —Fat woolly wethers, 34s 6d; fat shorn ewes, 22s 8d; m.s. hoggets, 25s 3d. CATTLE. —-Light fat cows, second quality, brought £4 15s to £5; good 4 and 5-year store bullocks, £8; 3 and 4year bullocoks, £7 2s 6d; store cows, £4 to £4 ss; 2-year well-bred S-H. heifers, £3 12s to £3 18s; m.s. SJI. yearlings (mostly heifers), £2 Ils 6d; Jerseycross yearling heifers, £3 4s 6d; yearling Jersey bulls, to £7; purebred S.H. 22-year bulls, 6J guineas to 74 guinears; good vealers, £2 10s to £2 14s 6d; runners. to £3 15s. PIGS. —Porkers sold at 345, 355, to 37s 6d; wcaners, 16s 6d, 18s 6d, to 20s.

AT BURNSIDE A GOOD SALE. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 9. There was a medium market for cattle at Burnside to-day, the sale for sheep was a bit erratic, and store cattle sold well. FAT CATTLE.—A yarding of 226. Prices were about on a par with those of last week. Prime heavy bullocks sold up to £l9 10s, equal to 37« 6d per lOOlbs; primes from £l4 10s to £l6, equal to 40s; and mediums from £l3 to £l4 ss. For prime heifers, up to £l2 was given and prime cows realised £l2 12s 6d equal to 30s to 42s 6d. STORE CATTLE.—A yarding of 102. The sale and quality were both good, the best cows bringing from £8 to £8 10s, while good heifers were from £6 to £7 10s. Medium quality sold at late rates. FAT SHEEP—The yarding numbered 2140, and consisted of a run of very prime heavy wethers and prime heavy ewes, together with the usual tail-end of medium and lighter sorts. For the first time this season shorn wethers and ewes appeared. The sale opened at last week’s rates and continued firm, showing an appreciation for prime heavies. Prices were: Prime heavy wethers 50s to 575, prime 43s to 495, medium 38s to 425, extra prime shorn wethers 48s, prime 30s to 345, extra prime ewes to 48s, prime 36s to 445. Prices for extra heavy wethers were on a basis of 7Jd, prime lights to Bd, prime ewes 6d, and aged ewes sd. LAMBS.—There was a yarding of about 90. The quality was good, but the prices were a little easier than last week and were on a basis of lOd to Is per lb. PIGS. —A penning of 90 fats and 76 stores. Taken all round the quality was fairly good. Baconcrs were more plentiful than usual. The fats showed an improvement in values, but the stores , remained about the same as previously, j IN THE DISTRICT THE MARTON SALE Dalgety and Company Ltd. report having a small yarding of sheep and cattle at tho Marton sale on MonclayQuotations: Wcaner pigs 15s, 17s; extra good wether hoggets 31s, 41s, fat hoggets 31s Id; empty shorn ewes Ins 2d; yearling heifers £3; two-year empty Jersey heifers £6 ss; bull £4 10s; fat cows £5 7s 6d. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the Marton sale as follows:—We had a fair yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs and have to report a very good sale, everything changing hands at prices satisfactory to vendors. We quote: 2, 4 and 6-th woolly wethers 38s 9d, shorn ewe hoggets, small 255, shorn wether hoggets 21s, shorn b.f. hoggets 21s lOkL Pigs: Wcaners 12s to 275, porkers 35s 6d to £2, yearling Jersey bulls £lO 10s to £l2 12s, others £5 to £7 7s, forward cows £4 to £5 2s 6d, store cows £2 to £3. Draught horses sold well from £l7 10s to £3l. There was also a good sale for implements, etc.
