Dalgety’s to-morrow. Many will be in time for the first sales. ATHLETICS The annual general meeting of the Mangaweka and District Athletic Clu*> was held on Saturday evening, and was presided over by Mr Walter Shaw (Ruahine). The balance sheet was read and adopted. The secretary Mr Dawkens tendered his resignation which was accepter} with regret. The chairman spoke of the club’s appreciation of the good work and enegy displayed by Mr Dawkins. Mr R. Hamilton was app< i: I <1 seertary. TENNIS Following are the ladder placings: Ladies —Mrs Harry Waymouth, Miss J. Bonnor, (capt), Misses Dickenson, I Carruthers, Johnston, Mrs Watson, | Misses Sweet, E. Deighton, N. Dawkins and M. Deighton. Men. —Waymouth, O’Cal laghan (capt), Dickson, Pairman, Roache, Dalrymple, Stewart. Pearce, E. Trewby and Deighton. The Taihape club wrote proposing an inter-club match for Saturday, but owing to shearing and other duties the ioe&l club regretted its inability to participate. The wet weather has held up the finishing of No. 3 court. PERSONAL Miss C. Hamilton. (Wanganui) Ts visiting her parents Mr and.' Mrs W. Hamilton (Kawhatau). Mr J. Waugh, jnr., returned by the last steamer from Australia. Mrs Grey of Palmerston North is preesnt visiting her brother, Mr E. J. Bunker. Mrs J. Powdjrell (Wanganui) is on a visit home to Mrs W. A. Bailey (Kawhatau). Miss McDonald (Auckland) is visiting Mrs Y. E. Wilson.
