FIREBLIGHT REGULATIONS [ Special “ Chronicle’" Service. ] WELLINGTHON, Nov. 8. To the protest which the provincial executive of the Nelson Farmers ’ Union lodged against the destruction ot hawthorn hedges infected with fircblight without compensation, the Minister of Agriculture has replied that the question of compensation was fully gone into at the time of passing the Act and that the Government is unable to accept responsibility.
