NO OFFICIAL ENQUIRY AT WELLINGTON. iPer Presi Association.') WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. As the Sydney ferry catastrophe did not occur on the New Zealand coast, there was on official inquiry in Wellington, but depositions from the Tahiti ’s officers were taken by the Afarine Superintendent of the Union Company, and detectives boarded the vessel on arrival to take the statements of some of the passengers. The Marine Department of the New Zealand Government would, of course, hold an inquiry hero had it been requested to do* so. The official inquiry will be held in Sydney, probably on tho return of the Tahiti to that port. Sunken Ferry Raised The sunken ferry Greycliffe was raised, but contrary to expectations no further bodies were discovered. Air Bruce announced the Commonwealth Government will hold an inquiry immediately into the cause of the disaster without any connection with the State inquiry.
