THE WENDY HUT OUR CHILDREN'S CORNER

My Dear Children— This is the end of another extremely busy week. My mail has been bigger than ever and with looking after your wants in cigarette cards and badges I have not had much time for myself. But it is a good thing to be kept busy, and each one of you will find that if you have something to occupy your minds outside school hours you will enjoy yourselves ever so much more than if you just casually pass your spare time away. It has been suggested to me that Wendyites might like to do something to make next Christmas brighter and happier for our young friends in hospital. If each of my readers were to send me a small parcel suitable for those in hospital or in less fortunate circumstances I am sure a big lot of sunshine would be brought into the hearts of many boys and girls. But, this is only a suggestion and I do want each member to tell me next week just what they think of the idea. Then I will decide what we can do to best assist some of our little brothers and sisters. What have you to say about it? I am awarding “Reve d’Amour” and “Ayaconora” 3 marks each for the excellent original story and poetry respectively sent in last week. Mr Printer is waiting for my letter so I must close with love from— WENDY.
