NEW AID TO SCIENCE
A VALUABLE ANTISEPTIC SIR ALFRED MOND’S ANNOUNCEMENT. (A. & NX) LONDON, Nov. 3. Presiding at the scientists’ luncheon, Sir Alfred Mond announced the perfection of a new antiseptic, a derivation of coal tar called 4 4 Monsol.* ’ Lieut.-General Sir Arthur Sloggett, the well-known surgeon, said that it possessed great virtues. It was nonpoisonous and intensely germicidal, could be applied to skin or throat, eould be taken internally, or could be injected in the blood, and in those four situations it was possible to attack three-quarters of the known infectious diseases.
