TROTTING
NIGHT MEETINGS PROPOSAL FOR CHRISTCHURCH. EXPERIENCE FOR YOUNG HORSES. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 3. In his annual report read to-night at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Owners’ and Breeders’ Association, the president, Mr D. F. Dennehy, advocated night trotting meetings. He suggested that such meetings would give trainers an opportunity of giving their young horses race experience. A half-mile track, he said, might be built on the showgrounds for the purpose. He thought meetings might be held at first, but later it might be possible to get permits.
