TWO HEADS FALL

MUTINOUS CHINESE DISPUTE OVER BACK PAY (A. & N.Z.) SHANGHAI, Nov. 2. Two hundred disgruntled Nationalist soldiers who were being shipped from Shanghai to Foochow on a Chinese steamer mutinied as the vessel was leaving the harbour. They overpowered the officers and demanded arrears of wages of 40 cents apiece. They stopped the vessel and compelled the crew to return to the wharf.

The local military authorities boarded the vessel and arrested the two ringleaders, who were beheaded immediately. The 40 cents were paid to the remainder and the vessel departed.
