EUCHRE PARTY [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service. ] The fortnghtly euchre party was held in the Anglican Church Sunday Schoolroom on Wednesday. There was a gooJ; muster present. The successful competitors for prizes were Miss Follas and Mr Kidman, the boobies going CO Miss Lawson and Mr Follas. Supper was dispensed *by Mesdames Don Stewart, J. Perry and J. Follas. PIPE BAND COMPETITIONS On Wednesday night the Hunterville Pipe Band held two competitions. For the President’s Trophy for the best piper, Mr Allison Ross was appointed judge and allotted the following points: F. Mclntyre 47 points (winner), A. McDonald 45 points (2) and D. J. Abel'4o points (3). This trophy will be competed for monthly. The second competition was the RA. Gordon Trophy for dress and marching, the judges being Mr S. B. Abel and A. Boss. First award went to J. Abel, who obtained 53 points for dress and 13 for marching, a total of 66. The next in order were A. C. Ross (dress 50, marching 15, total 65), F. Mclntyre (dress 50, marching 12, total 62) an<r A. Abel (dress 47, marching 13, total 60). TENNIS, CROQUET AND BOWLING AU the courts were weU patronised on Wednesday afternoon. On Tuesday it was any odds against the greens being fit to play on Wednesday, but the winds andj sun on Wednesday morning dried the greens up well. All the croquet courts were in use and the bowlers had two rinks out both playing well but slightly on the heavy side. Several very interesting sets were played at Tennis.
