A PRICE WAR
EUROPEAN AIR LINES TRENCH AND GERMAN ENTERPRISE. (A. & N.Z.> LONDON, Oct. 26. The appearance of a new fleet of aeroplanes for the French Air Union was responsible for Imperial Airways’ cut in fares to Paris. The newcomers include machines which are a quarter of an hour faster than the British, and France has order ed an all-metal aeroplane to be placed on the route.
The Morning Post says Imperial Airways are also severely challenged on the Continental routes. France and Ger-
many are increasing their influence throughout Europe and in North Africa, and Germany is operating to England, Holland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Austria and Switzerland. The French Air Union, furthermore, is drastically cutting freights, which at present are a most profitable source of revenue, hence the price war will coon reach a more acute stage.
