WOMEN’S TOURNEY ENGLAND LEADS FRANCE (A.P.A.-Sun) LONDON, June IS LONDON, June 17. Miss Betty Nuttall, at the first international Anglo-French women’s tennis tourney at Eastbourne, beat Mhdame Vaussaud 6-3, 7-5, and with Mrs Godfree beat Madame Mathieu and Mdlle. Deve 6-2, 6-2. England is leading by six matches to nil. Mme Deve beat Miss Betty Nuttall, 6-4, 6-2. Miss Nuttall played well but her opponent placed the ball magnificently. ON DAVIS CUP LINES ANGLO-AMERICAN TOURNAMENT Received June 19, 1.5 p.m. LONDON, June 18. An Anglo-American tennis tournament on Davis Cup lines is being played at Manchester. Hunter beat Higgh, 7-3, 3-5, 9-7, 6-4. Tilden beat Greig, 6-0, 6-0, 6-2. In the doubles, Tilden and Hunter boat Crole-Rees and Fames, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5. America beat Britain five matches to nil. Tilden beat Higgs 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. Hunter beat Greig 6-1, 7-5, 6-8, 8-6.
