COAL IMPORTATIONS
THE FRENCH EMBARGO ANXIETY IN BRITAIN. Received June 14, 8 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, Juno 14. Sir Herbert Samuel, in a reply to a question in the House of Commons, said the Government regarded the French embargo on coal importations with anxiety on coal importations strongest representations on the subject, especially urging that existing contracts be respected. At present he did not know how the embargo was operating. He hoped to be able to make a further statement in a day or so.
