FREE STATE ELECTIONS Position of the Government Still in Doubt LABOURITES SATISFIED. [By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright.] Received June 13, 7 p.m. (A.P.A.-Sun) LONDON, Juno 13. The Free State election progress returns show: — Government 29 De Valeraites 29 Labour 15 National League 5 Sinn Fein 3 Independents 8 Farmers 6 It is impossible to forecast the practical results of the elections until it is known whether the Republicans are going to continue the policy of not taking the oath. Up to the present the Constitutionalists are fairly safe, but complications may arise if the Republicans enter the Dail and try to form an alliance with sections opposed to the Government. Labour is satisfied with its gains, and will probably secure 22 scats. It is doubtful if the farmers’ candidates will reach the pre-election strength and in any case the distribution of transfer votes must profoundly effect the result.
