SALE AT WELLINGTON The Wellington brokers report as follows:—We held our fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hhd,*es and tallow on Friday, when we offered a large catalouge to a full attendance of buyers. Competition for sheepskins was keen, prices for dry skins being very firm at last sale’s rates. Short woolledi skins were, if anything, a little firmer. Saltods were on a par with last sale’s quotations. Hides were in keen demand and prices were very firm at last sale’s rates. Cow hides shower} an advance of about jd, kips an advance of about l-Bd', ox hides and calfskins being on a par with last sale. In sympathy with the drop in the London market, prices for tallow were about from .Is to 22s lower than last sale’s rates. The following is the official range of prices:— Sheepskins.—Half-bred;, 10fd to 12A»d; forward crossbred, Llld to 12id; med>ium coarse crossbred, 9|d to lid; short half wools, 7Ad to 11 Ad; lambs, 9d to 12iid;; dead and damaged crossbred, 71d to lOd; inferior an'd badly damaged 4|d to 8d; pelts, 4d to 8 2d'; damp, salted and green, 5s to 9s Id; lambs, salted, 4s to Gs Gd.
