THOSE CAUCUS MEETINGS
Sir.—lt is commonly stated about the town that the caucus meetings of tho City Progressive Party councillors are also attended by non-members of the council who assist in the framing of the “new broom” policy. Might T suggest, sir, that it would not be an undignified action on tho part of the Progressives to reply to this assertion. If they do little else, the C.P.P. at least will have instituted a streetcorner system of intelligence with which some of the new councillors appear not unwilling to be associated. Their watchword might well bo economy—in all things but “hot air.” UNDERGROUND. June ll e
