THE ENTENTE
VERY MUCH A REALITY “Not a Mere Souvenir,” says French Foreign Minister KEEPING PEACE IN EUROPE. [By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright.] (A. &N.Z.) PARIS, May 20. M. Briand, referring to conversations with Sir Austen Chamberlain, said that the two great nations were in agreement on every joint considered .by their Foreign Ministers, and were determined to resist with their utmost strength any disturbance of public order in Europe. The Entente was not, as some said, a mere souvenir, but was very much a reality. King George has sent the following message to President Doumergue: “The, Queen and I hasten to thank you for your kind message upon quitting our shores at the conclusion of a visit which has been to us a most happy experience. I wish again to' express the immense satisfaction that your presence has given to my people, enabling them to testify to their affection for you, and to the close friendship associating us with the great nation of which you arc the illustrious head.”
