OFF TO SYDNEY

DOMINION HORSES THE ULIMAROA’S CONTINGENT [ Special to “ Chronicle. ” ] AUCKLAND, May 20. The marked success which has invariably followed attacks macle by New Zealand owners on race meetings held in and near Sydney of recent years has encouraged others on this side of the Tasman to make the trip, and when the Ulimaroa left Auckland this morning she had on board a contingent of eight racehorses billed to compete in Australia at meetings to be held during the next few weeks. On anything they have shown in the Dominion there are no horses of the calibre of Limerick, Rapine, Count Cavour or Star Stranger among them, but they comprise - a useful lot who, if rightly placed, should pick up a stake or two. Of the eight the Ellerslie trainer, J. Williamson, claims four— The Thorn, Clarus. Solario and Pentagram. J. T. Jamieson, whose training quarters arc at Papakura, has gone across with a team of three —Le Choucas, Prinice Otto and The Immigrant. Without being champions they are a useful trio. W. Bagby will do the riding. The remaining horse of the party is Ring the Bell ■who, on arrival in Sydney, will go into R. J. King’s stable.
