FOOTBALL [ From the “ Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent. ] Kotahitanga visited Bulls on Wednesday, and outclassed, the local juniors winning by 37 points to nil, the visitors showing superiority in combined play. Mr D. Howard was referee. The local boys held their own for the first 20 minutes when, from a mark W. Chapman kicked a good goal from a handy position. Soon afterwards Wikohika secured and following up a

short punt crossed uuder the posfs. Paki had no trouble in converting. Bulls were penalised for offside play and Paki kicked a good goal from well out. Gibson scored soon after, the kick failing. Within a few minutes Chapman secured and after "dummying” through the black forwards passed on to Gibson who dived over well out. Paki converted with a beautiful kick, the spell then ending Kotahitanga 19. Bulls nil. The second half had not long started when Te Ruka got over well out, then Gibson broke through well out, Hetlett adding the major points. Wikohika was next to score, Hetlett succeeding with the kick. The black forwards made determined rushes but their efforts lacked finish and proved fruitless. Just on the close of ’ the spell Metakinga dashed over and Hetlett converted, the game ending Kotahitanga. 37, Bulls 0. RANGITOTO RABBIT BOARD The Rangitoto Rabbit Board held its monthly meeting on Monday, when the following were present: —Messrs K. W. Dalrymple (chairman), L. M. Richards, A. Amon, R. J. Gray, W. J. Simpson, R. H. Trotter, E. A. Palmer, and W. A. Sutherland. Leave of absence was granted to H. Wilson. Mr Dalrymple reported that he had attended the meeting of the North Island Rabbit Boards and gave a resume

of the meeting which has been publish cd. The inspector’s report was read and received and the Board noted the pleasing fact that the rabbits showed a decrease in the district compared with April 1926. The clerk reported that the rates out standing were: European £l7 6s 9d, Maori £4 12s Bd, and he was instructed to give final notice that all rates unpaid by May 31 were to be placed in the hands of the solicitor for collection. The balance sheet for the year endin December 31, 1926, was approved and Messrs Dalrymple and Richards were appointed to sign it and the Rate Book. It was decided that a general rate of Id per acre be struck on the whole of the rateable area in the Board’s district, to date from June 1, 1927. The next meeting will be called for on Monday.. June 13. "THE SAVAGE” A most elaborate set is seen in "The Savage.’’ which will be shown at thfc Bulls Town Hall on Saturday evening The set was designed by Milton Menasco .art director for the Eastern units of First National .and just about presents the last word in jungle scenes. Picture fans will be delighted to hear that particularly good programmes will be screened during the. next month or so, among the special pictures coining are: "The Desert Price.” f eating Buck Jones (May 25); "Zeebrugge” a Great, War epic, shown under distinct patronage of the King (June 8); and "The Sea Boast,” in which John Barrymore is seen in his greatest picture (June 22).
