TWO NEW AIRSHIPS
AMERICAN PLANES EXPENSIVE CONSTRUCTION Received May 19, 9 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) WASHINGTON, May 19. An Air Commission has been appointed to examine the designs for the two projected airships authorised by Congress with 6,000,000 cubic feet gas capacity. These are expected to travel 6000 miles, averaging 50 knots an hour, and it is estimated that each ship will cost £4,000,000. Construction will occupy three years.
