FIGURES FROM BRITAIN IMPROVEMENT SINCE GENERAL STRIKE Received May 18, Il p.m. (A.P.A.-Sun) LONDON, Al ay 18. The Ministry of Labour has announced that there are 998,300 unemployed in Britain. This is the first time the number has been below a million since the week before the general strike, when it was below the million for the first time since 1921.
