TEETH AND HEALTH
IMPORTANCE OF DIET ADDRESS AT DENTAL CONFERENCE [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 18. In his presidential address to the Dental Conference, Mr Taylor paid a warm tribute to the work being carried out in the. schools in conenction with dental hygiene. He stressed the importance of diet in regard to the well-being of the teeth and health of mankind, and said that he would like to see a small committee from the Association bring before the Government the necessity of more propaganda on the subject. The newspapers should be induced to take up the matter in a prominent way, and the subject of dictics should be taught in every school. It was no use denouncing the miller who made white flour, the baker who baked white bread, or the confectioner who sold a variety of enticing sweets. “We must educate the public to know what form of manufactured foods are good for the system, and then the merchant will soon supply them,” he said.
