The death of Mr William Arthur W. Grenfell, secretary of the Wellington Employers Association, occurred on Saturday.

An Auckland message reports the death of Mr David M. Dingwall, a wellknown resident, born in Auckland 81 years ago.

Captain F. B. Rainey, shore superintendent in New Zealand for the C. and D. steamship line, is visiting Wanganui,

Mr C. C. Miles, of Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., Dunedin, has been transferred to the local branch of that firm, but not as manager, as was stated in Saturday’s issue. Mr Davidson is still in charge.

During the week-end Wanganui paid last respects to the two victims of the Mount Egmont fatality, Messrs Fenton Latham and Noel Baines, both members of the teaching staff of the Wanganui Collegiate School. The death occurred at Auckland on Saturday of Mr Joseph Harrison Russell, a son of the late Mr and Mrs J. Russell, of Wanganui. Formerly an enthusiastic member of the Wanganui Garrison Band, with whom he attended the Wellington Exhibition Contest, Mr Russell, who had been employed at the East Town Workshops for some twenty years, was transferred to Newmarket last November. About three weeks ago he fell ill with influenza and passed away on Saturday. Interment will take place at Wanganui upon the arrival of the body from the northern city.
