THE WENDY HUT

TINKER BELL TALKS FROM WENDY’S ARMCHAIR Now that the'workmen arc out of the new Wendy Hut, I’ll try to describe some of our rooms, shall 1 ? The Great Big Room is the most important, of course, because it’s a sort of general office, committee room, play room and dance room (oh, yes! we’re going to dance now we've got some place to dance in) and work room all combined. We’re naming it “Happy Hall’’—don’t you think it’s rather a nice idea ? Well, the walls of Happy Hall are distempered in sunshine colour; lovely, kindly, happy sunshine! So that whatever the sky looks like outside, our Happy Hall will bring old King Sol right up to our tea-table. At the top of the walls we have what the decorator people call a frieze; it is rather a broad one. and the Goblin Artist has painted on it all sorts of beautiful birds—bluebirds for happiness, red robins for good cheer; humming-birds for beauty, and little grey dovas for peace! These painted birds are flitting about amongst a perfect bower of jolly natural-looking trees and flowers. But I could go on telling yon about our wonderful frieze all day, but I’d better mention a (ew of the other things in Happy Hall. The floor is made of lovely golden-brown polished wood—parquet the builders call it; and we have a nice lot of soft orange and blue and sunshine coloured rugs flung about. There’s a big armchair for me, and another for Daffy Dill; there are three litle ones for Tink, Billikins and the Goblin Artist; and dozens of others for our friends and the rest of the Wendy Hut crowd. We have only a very few pictures—

good ones in narrow black frames; but we have lots and lots of flowers growing merrily in bowls and pots, and lots and lots of jolly books in a bookcase along the wall. I haven’t described half the wonders of Happy Hall. But you’ll see by the picture the Goblin Artist has drawn for vou how very wonderful it all is; and you’ll guess how happy we are going to be in it. WENDY.
