The Christchurch Band Contest Committee has decided to hold an A., 8., and C. contest in the Cathedral City from February 18 to 25 next year. A Gisborne Press Association message states that Frank McCarten, aged 74, residing at Alakaraka, was knocked down by a motor car in Gladstone Road on Thursday evening, sustaining serious injuries, and was removed to hospital .
