WANGANUI LADIES BENEFIT Ten years ago on Monday next, a | small Wanganui drapery firm exchanged ownership for the modest sum of a few thousand pounds. This particular business had then been in existence for a period, of 30 years. The reason it had not developed in pace, with the town need not be discussed here, however. M,ay .1917, was the turning point in its history. Hperring's Satisfaction Store was the title under which this new firm commenced business in this city. From this mom ent developments were sudden .and improvements followed rapidly, with the result that, in a very short time the premises became far too small. A. new site was obtained and to-day Sperring’s Satisfaction Store is the great attraction to drapery buyers for miles round the district. i To mark this ten years of progress, on Monday next, Sperrings arc launching a. great selling carnival, when drap- - ery will be. sold at. exceptional bargain prices. Wanganui ladies will not lose any time in getting on to these wonderful lines, judging from the big stocks offering and the absurdly low prices it is predicted that ffn unparalleled rush will set. in. This event has been carefully planned, the London buying firm for Sperrings have sent over .100 cases of seasonable and wanted merchandise bought at one third to 50 per cent, below manufacturers usual prices in order that the offerings at this great carnival will be far ahead in vail- to anything yet attempted in this city. Readers would be well advised to boar in mind that this great carnival commences on May 2 at 9 o’clock and will continue for 14 days. A big advertisement is appearing in this issue, which will be worth while studying.
