NIXON CUP GAMES EAST MEETS WEST. The fourth round in tho Nixon Cup contest was played on Saturday when three rinks from the Wanganui East Club met those from the Wanganui West Club, the former winning by 26 points. The following are the scores (Wanganui East players being mentioned first): — Powell, Muir, Willis and H. Stewart 23 v. Melville, Copeland, Lamont and Wilson 19. Andersen, Sigley, Darbyshire and Jones 20 v. Anthony, McGorrery, Howe, and Anderson 13. Laws, Cox, Srethey and McLaren 29 v. Uttley, Malt, Williamson and Bates 14. Totals: Wanganui East 72; Wanganui West 46. RAPANUI AGAINST GONVILLE Four rinks from the Gonville Club journeyed to Kai Iwi on Saturday to play matches for the Nixon Cup against tho Rapanui Club. The Rapanui players proved the winners, the final scores being: Rapanui 82; Gonville 79. At the close of the games Mr F. Symes expressed the thanks of the Gonville players for the afternoon’s sport. Ho also thanked the ladies for the afternoon tea. Air G. Handley responded for the Rapanui Club.
