NOVEL RESCUE

BOY SAVED FROM TIGER CATTLE IN A NEW LIGHT. An astonishing story has reached here from India of how a boy was saved from a tiger by cattle. The boy was tending 100 cattle in a hilly district in the state of Mysore, when a tiger attacked him from behind and felled him. The cattle however, saw the beast, and charged upon it from all sides. They gored the tiger, half killing him, with the result that he left the fallen boy and crawled into the jungle. The cattle stood on guard over the wounded boy and began to bellow until their unusual behaviour attracted the attention of some peasants working in the adjoining fields. The boy was taken to hospital and, though terribly injured, is still alive.
