THIEF’S PICTURESQUE LANGUAGE. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Fab. 16. Raymond Woodward, laged 38, described by the Chief Detective as a notorious thief, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, to be followed [by six months ’ reformative detention, at the Police Court on a charge of stealing £5 10s from John Viscoe, a King Country visitor. On the way to thp lock-up with Detective Craigie the (accused said: "Y’ou know I don’t knock round with crooks, but if I see a mug with a bit of gilt on him I’ll give him a go for it.”
