STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
TRAMCAR DISABLED MOTORMAN SUFFERING FROM SHOCK [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Feb. 15. A tramcar was struck by lightning during the height of ia thunderstorm at Epsom to-night. The lightning travelled by the overhead wire down the pole of the car to the engine, and a blinding flash followed. The motorman, William Tee, reeled back with the shock. He said afterwards that it felt as if someone had dealt him a heavy blow on the heck. He displayed great promptness in stopping the dar, in which no passengers were travelling at the time. The hlair at the back of his head was singed and he was suffering somewhat from shock. The car suffered no structural damage but tho lights fused hnd the engine was partly disabled.
